Me in 2019

Hello! My name is Christopher Coleman.

I am:

  • Christian (Reformed/Charismatic)
  • Politically progressive
  • Autistic

I am a Senior Software Engineer at Ramsey Solutions, specializing in ruby on Rails. I work on an educational product called SmartDollar, which is a Financial Wellness benefit companies can purchase for their employees.

The name of the blog comes from the Johnny Cash song Man In Black in which he says:

I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you’d think He’s talking straight to you and me.

Well, we’re doin’ mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin’ cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we’re reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought‘a be a Man In Black.

This song and lyrics really struck a chord with me (pun always intended on this site) and I have kept this sense of solemn symbolism throughout my journey as a Christian. While I do have fun, I also take things very seriously, especially when it comes to spiritual matters. So there will be some heavy content on this blog, and also some technical content, since I am a software nerd. But I hope it will be relevant to some people.

Anyway, I’ve never had a blog before, I don’t know if it will be any good, but you are welcome to try it if you like. Good night readers, sleep well, I’ll most likely kill you in the morning. 😉
